The lost pattern has been found!

Thanks to Ginger, member of Heartmade Blessings, I now know the source of the pattern I have been using for my 12-inch squares. It is pattern number nine on page 19 of "Contest Favorites: Afghan Squares," Leisure Arts leaflet #2986. You can see information about the leaflet here.

I made some adjustments to create a 12-inch size, i.e. the original pattern calls for D hook, making an 8 inch square. I use an H hook and add one more row of (DC, ch1, sk st, DC, ch1, sk st) row.

Happy Anniversary Grace Community!

Today, July 1, marks the 53rd anniversary of Grace Community Church of the Valley: my current employer (for almost 30 years!), and the ministry where Jesus Christ reached down to save me from my sins back in 1971. I am so grateful to this church for having godly pastors--men who taught me the Word of God resulting in my salvation, and for training this young believer in a strong biblical foundation.

Grace Community Church was founded by a group of about a dozen families who wanted to reach the San Fernando Valley for Christ, and the church has remained faithful to its mandate ever since. I am so blessed to be a part of this ministry! S.D.G.!

Pattern Search

I've been using a certain pattern for the 12-inch squares I make for various charities (mostly Heartmade Blessings). Several people have asked me where they can get the pattern for themselves. However, it's been so long (perhaps two years or more!), I don't remember the source of this pattern.

Stella ♥ Crochet!

So I'm trying to get this afghan done for my niece (who loves purple--can you tell??). And Stella, in her usual (un)helpful way, decides to take a nap. See what she's saying? "What do YOU want?"

Normally she just sits on my lap. And yes, I've learned how to crochet off to the side so as not to disturb her. Priorities, you know.
